Festivaaaaal B L O G!Β

#Nowthatsafestival… #Ministryofcheese!

Well we woke up early as it was pretty much a 2 hour drive to Dagenham, but we had a sat nav and my iPad handy that got us there and back safely!

So we got there and boy was we in our element… pop/ garage/ hip hop just ultimate songs you knew was playing, and the performers that was opening up before the main acts were Brilliant!

Dr Fox 🦊 was the host and he was great hyping everyone up, we also had Dj Rick, the man behind MINISTRY OF CHEESE πŸ§€ The music was amazing and it was our first time at a festival!

The main acts wereeeeeeeee… *Scream if you see your favourite!

S Club, Dane Bowers, Damage, Blazin’ Squad, 911, BWitched and my favourite BLUE ! πŸ’™

All the acts were amazing, and our throats were sore when we got home, we got there 12.30 and got home at 00.30 pahaha. We literally danced the whole time, on our feet for like 10 hours, we sat down for maybe 10 mins and that was it! 😳 (was worth it obvs)

* sidenote JLS played on the radio when on the route to Dagenham and nearly gave Chloe a heart attack. Blue was my first boy band and is my original love, but JLS are my ultimate! πŸ’―

Have a crave now for Festivals but needs to be one that I would like all the music, wanna dance the whole time! πŸ•ΊπŸΎπŸ’ƒπŸ½

Drinks and food was good, the queues were a drag but no surprise there haha! We enjoyed a few glasses of wine hehe! And then some chicken and chips ❀️

The place went mad when the acts came on, but more mad when Blazin’ Squad, BWitched and Blue came on! I SCREAMED the place down when Blue came on, nearly wanted to cry! Had all the albums and singles and posters! Drove my family mad πŸ˜‚

*Sidenote if you loved what Chloe was wearing, leave a comment and I can mention it to her… so send her some love ❀️

I have many videos on Facebook and my Snapchat iweeze πŸ‘»

Let me know on what other festivals I should check out, and how was your first experience and which one did you go to?

See yah soon x

Chilled weekend…Β

It’s been one of those weekends where I just needed lots of sleep!πŸ˜…πŸ˜΄

I get super duper tired from my job, and nothing much planned on saturday so I took advantage and did nothing but sleep!

If you haven’t recognised already that I LOOOOVEEEEEE sleep, I could go to bed at 9pm and have the best sleep, any later than 11pm I will be knackered the next day. Trust me i have NOOOO idea what my body will be like when I have kids… (IF!) The thought of being awake through the night, and day… and don’t know how you parents do it, but kudos.  πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ€— Parents that have lack of sleep and still function to work, how the hell?! *bows down*

I am the worst person to be around when I have no sleep… ask my family, partner and best friend. They will all say I am a b****! I’m cranky, moody, not talkative and don’t cross path with me if I’m tired and hungry!😱 #dangerzone

*is anyone else a Nap Queen, and needs there rest?! Or is it just me lol πŸ˜‚ Definitely need this top below, or in a jumper! (I am in a size medium if you are buying HaHa!) πŸ‘ΈπŸΎπŸ˜΄

Went to town with my other half, (Actually went to town, not the term!) And if you live in England then you know the weather was awful ! Was pouring with rain, but no suprise there.πŸ™„ Went to look at some curtains and couldn’t find the ones we wanted… *need help! Where is a store that sells curtains that are short not long!

*I do need to check out Rushden Lakes, for shopping as it is a new complex closest to where I live and hear it has a PAPERCHASE??!! Omg I love that shop!β€οΈπŸ““πŸ–ŠπŸ“š (Definitely will get my Uni notepads and stationery from there!)

Today… we are going to the seaside with my family, so I’ll take some snaps… check out my social media page, and you’ll get to see some lovely pics of my day out! *Sunny Hunny! πŸŒžπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

How’s your weekend been, any plans for next weekend? Or is it just a relaxed one?

Happy National Lipstick Day! πŸ’„πŸ‘„

I have a BeautyBay haul to share with you guys and girls! πŸ€—

I love using Beauty Bay for make up you find hard to get, especially living in the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ it can be annoying paying for shipping and delivery from different countries! Beauty Bay is great for shopping for new products, or products you love already. I go on Beauty Bay mainly for Jeffree Star βοΈπŸ™Š.

I haven’t bought a new liquid lipstick in ages, and Jeffree was coming out with a chrome collection and one colour caught my eye STRAIGHT AWAY!

And that is… YOU.BETTER.WORK πŸ’œ

How pretty is the colour though! 😍 I bought this lovely lipstick for Β£16 on Beauty Bay!

The next thing I bought was a Velour lip scrub from Jeffree Star Cosmetics. ⭐️ And I bought this for £12, and the flavour I got was Spearmint! I always use Vaseline before I put any liquid lipstick on, but wanted to try a scrub as he says, they are edible! (Which I find cool, in a weird way)

And this has nothing to do with lips, but hey I needed a new powder. Now I always have stuck by my Revlon powder, but wanted to try a new one. so did my research on YouTube, and searched girls with my skin tone and wanted to see what powder they use! Came across BH Studio Pro, Matte finish pressed powder! Brilliant!!! πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ I got the shade #240 and I paid Β£9 😱😍 (Let’s hope it works)

Since it is #NationalLipstickDayπŸ’„πŸ’‹ what is your favourite lipstick? And which one would you reccomend me to try? Have a great weekend!

Is that weave?πŸ’‡πŸΎ #Nope.Β

Looking after Afro- Caribbean hair, is high matinence but my hair is …. e v e r y t h i n g! #ilovemyhair ! Which leads me to this blog…

It’s a privilege to have hair like THISSSS, but I do have to look after it, morning and night time!

When growing up, my nan would always have my hair protected, as in cornrows or plaited! My hair was hardly ever out in just a “normal” ponytail. And on school trips away, my nan always wanted me to have in some sort of wrap… and mine was old stockings/tights πŸ˜‚πŸ˜§ (If you know you know)! I remember my friends laughing like “what the hell is that” πŸ™„ (Mind you I did grow up as a minority, so my hair was a phenomenon to some.) In seceondary school my hair was relaxed for the first time, and I remember being in love with the look! It was so soft and silky, and my nan was like, wow your hair is long gurrrrl!πŸ™‹πŸΎ Got that island hair! πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’š

Since moving out I have kept my hair in good condition, and even taught myself to relax my hair myself… the days my nan use to do it was nearly a whole day, and nothing has changed! πŸ˜‚ I wanted to do it myself as my nans back was getting a bit dodgy, so I wanted to help my just doing it my god damn self! πŸ˜… My first time I was crapping myself, as I didn’t want my hair falling out, as relaxing hair is not something to mess about with. When relaxing my hair, I like to plan my day and see if I have enough hours to do it!

My nan has always used the Olive Oil relaxing kit, and I just carried on buying it. You can find it online or Boots/ Superdrug’s, but I like to buy it at my local Afro-Caribbean hairdressers. *Shout out to Macs Haircare*

These products I use for washing/ and deep conditioning my hair, I ALWAYS DEEP CONDITION MY HAIR, as I want to make sure I lock all the moisture back into my hair, that the relaxer took out.

These products I use for when I am finished hair drying my hair, and currently use after until finished.

The problem with notΒ living in a city, is that when it comes to getting hair products or an Afro-Caribbean hair shop, it is hard to come buy… but luckily where I live there is one! And that’s what matters! My local hairdressers always take care of me, and make sure I am looking after my hair πŸ˜‚! They always are shocked to see how long my hair is, and that It hasn’t fallen out!

I have done my fair share of doing all sorts of different looks with my hair… let’s take a look.

Shaved style.

Copper/ what the hell.

I do not know why I did that, but I did… πŸ˜³πŸ™ˆ

My hair was so broken, and I promised myself I would never dye it again!

Right so let’s get on what products I use!

At this precise moment, these are the products I am currently using and lovingπŸ–€Β

ThisΒ Olive Oil Sheen Spray, its a must for me, it adds great shine and smells soooooo good!

Coconut Oil is a must!!!!!!!! For hair growth it has made a massive difference! And it’s brilliant for moisture, I have used different types of coconut oil, but this one is greeeaaat. 😍

If you are a black person living in England, and haven’t come across products from DAX, then are you even black???!!! #onlyjoking. This make had everything, when it came to scalp care, and my nan would always use some sort of product for when it came to plaiting my hair. And the smells lasts for days. (And your forehead shining so bright from all the oils haha!)

This one I have been enjoying quite a bit, and use this on my roots especially when hair drying my hair, and in apply to the ends of my hair when styling it.

I have always been raised to use a lot of oils, just beacause of the English weather, the sun doesn’t tend to shine all the time! πŸ˜”πŸŒ And most of the time my hair has to deal with wind and rain. πŸŒ§πŸ’¨

This product is just one I came across randomly… L’OrΓ©al Elvive Extraordinary Oil. Smells lush, and gives even extra shine!

I like to relax my hair as for me, I love the look. And I find it easier to comb when relaxed as it’s all smooth. Nowadays all you hear about is black women and their hair, but to me that’s my crown. Black women are beautiful with natural hair, wig, weave, braided, short, long, dyed, shaved, Afro whatever! I do get questioned whether my hair is real, which does make me laugh as my hair could not be this long and it be actually from the top of my head. πŸ˜‚ But no it’s not, not that I’m against weave, it’s just not for me.

My other half does have to endure the fact of how long it takes to look after my hair, and god forbid if I’m going on a night out… my hair has to be what I want it to be, otherwise it’s not happening. πŸ‘ŽπŸ½

*BUT DO NOT APPROACH ME WITH WATER, it’s not even funny. I don’t play those games, blood sweat and tears into looking after my hair, and unless I consent to it, don’t even dare!* πŸ‘ŠπŸΎ

Here’s some pics I took, and help from Tom to take some, and show off my hair! πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™‹πŸΎ #NoweavehereΒ

Right well that was a long one, and if you are here at the end, I applaud you! πŸ‘πŸ½

Achievement Unlocked!Β

Class of 2017 – University of BedfordshireπŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŽ“

I am super duper proud of myself, and congrats to everyone else! Woop woop to all the Early Years studies students!!

Maaaaaaaan sometimes I really just wanted to give up and just be like nah, and the amount of times I felt guilty going out or watching tv when I had words to write 😢😳! (I probably will be doing that again, since I am going back to Uni but FULL TIME in September!)

Since there will be another graduation, I won’t be so in detail with words I want to say, but I do want to thank you a few people.

Karen My tutor from Level 3 in COLLEGE! And has been very influential in my career path, and helped shaped my decisions in what I would like to do when I graduate next year. She also helped my confidence, and defended me when I needed it, and gave me courage, in that I can graduate… AND I DID! πŸ€— love you K! good luck in your future aspirations, you’ll be brilliant, and you’ll never have a student like me, Love Curtis x

Family, yes I’m proud to say I’m the first Grandchild to graduate (on my Nans side) and since she couldn’t make it, I did think of you! Hopefully you’ll be better for next years one haha! Thank you to my Auntie’s and Uncle’s, mum V. You guys are mental and if all you guys were there I know you would of been chanting loud haha, Thank you Thomas for supporting me, and getting a tie at the last minute! (Yes I was a nervous wreck, and wanted to be coordinated!) πŸ˜‚

Friends, thank you for the support, and to the class of 2017… one more cheer *woop woop* πŸ‘πŸ½

A special little post to my Best friend ~ Chloe. πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŽ“  Thank you for being the person that you are, you’re beautiful, you’re smart πŸŽ“πŸ˜‚, and you are loyal! We support each other in different ways in doing assignments like… “If we do some amount of words, we can go out Saturday night, and then Sunday is just to finish it off” yeah those words never worked… but we went out anyway! πŸ˜‚ (we did the work in the end HaHa) but that’s how we roll, we get stuck in and get on with it! I will also miss our times of sitting in class, deciding what we will have from mcdonalds! πŸ˜…

I am so proud of you, and can’t wait for us to do it AGAIN NEXT YEAR! πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŽ“πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸŽ“ πŸ’–βœ¨

“Have you started the assignment”

“No”

“Oh good, me either” HaHa πŸ˜‚

Again, I am just so happy I have achieved this, and I did it with my best friend… but also on my own! My friends from school have already had this moment, so I am happy I can say I did it too! Nan raised me up, to have goals and ambitions… and this is my first. With want I want to do in life, this degree will get me there, and help make a difference.

What’s your ambitions? And does education help that? I know for some people it’s not needed, but for MY career path it is, and this is only the beginning! πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŽ“βœ¨πŸ’–

Here are some photos from the day! πŸΎπŸŽ“

Obviously it hasn’t happened yet, but I am happy that my Nan is going to see me graduate and hopefully she will be proud!

Also quite exciting that my best friend is there and we have done this first part of this journey together!

My obsession with KPOP~ πŸ’™πŸ‡°πŸ‡·

It’s no secret I LOOVEEEEEEE KPOP!πŸ’™

 * I need to go to South Korea at some point of my lifeπŸ™πŸ½ 😩

I know right, and black girl loving Asian culture… we are in 2017, let’s embrace different things, Plus I have been different all my life so no biggie thereπŸ˜‚! Anyway I can’t remember exactly what year I got into KPOP, but definitely when I was in school my obsession had started! I remember watching 2PM‘s video “Again and Again” and just being hooked with the choreography, fashion, songs and the men! 😍 (Obviously this was way before I met Tom)

I would say 2PM was the first KPOP band I became obsessed with, and loved them even when Jay Park was in it, but when he left it was a bit confusing with the rumours why he left, but I didn’t care… I still love themπŸ˜‚ (Chansung was my fave πŸ˜…)

I have all of there albums and only was allowed to have one KPOP poster up in my bedroom, and it was the “Hands Up” album oneπŸ™ŒπŸ½  This photo is the “I’m your Man” album❀️

Here’s Chansung 😍!

Then around the same time I was obsessed with Big Bang, and I remember them receiving the Best Worldwide Act at the 2011 EMA’s and screaming for joy around my Nans haha, I don’t think my Nan ever understood my obsession with KPOP, but she did when Gangnam Style came outπŸ™„.

*I’m not moaning but when Psy came out with that song, people started coming out pretending they loved KPOP… No no nooooo been a fan for years, and heard that song way before it became massive! *Hipster quote!

Back to Big Bang, I did have one album but not all of them, but did buy singles on ITunes, my fave is T.O.P 😍

Then became obsessed with Exo❀️

Their choroegraphy is just amazing πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ and Kai is my fave😍

A few more KPOP groups I love is SHINee,

Miss A✌🏽

Twice πŸ’–

And Jay Park

And honestly I could list all my favourite songs from the bands, but it would a long long long one, haha but ones I have played to friends who have never listened to KPOP, “Hands up” by 2PM did catch them by surprise 😏.

If you are a KPOP fan, tell me some of your favourite bands and songs?! βœŒπŸ½πŸ’«
